You are right about Miami handling the GATORS in that same venue the year before but instead of going back 4 years why dont we just go back 3 weeks and look at what happened.

Nope--I wanna talk about the future. I guarantee you we'll out-recruit UF as far as getting really good football players go, not the recruiting services necessarily--but we'll get guys that know how to play the game and know how to win. That win UF had a few weeks ago won't help them w/the recruiting game, especially pulling kids out of S. Florida.

The only reason Meyer may get a kid or two from Palm/Broward/Dade counties is because UM doesn't want that kid or has a better one at their position. That, ultimately, will end up hurting Meyer more than he realizes.

I can't wait until 2013 when UFag has to come to Dolphins Stadium.

I'm a fan of an ACC school, but I don't see any school from our conference out recruiting an SEC school anytime soon....Proof is on the field right now

I hope Ga feels the same way! Fla shouldnt be worried bout Bama because the only place theyd see us is in the SEC championship. With a win this weekend for the Tide would look like a very reasonable prediction. The only two players out of S. Florida that Meyer has gotten that UM wanted in the past 2 recruiting classes are Major Wright and Deonte Thompson, and we were in the final two with UF for both of their services. They've lost far more recruiting battles to UM than UM has to UF, especially for Palm/Broward/Dade county kids. Major Wright was turned off due to Brian Pata's shooting (read: Meyer told a bunch of players after Pata's shooting death that Miami wasn't a safe school to go to and Wright bit on it). Deonte went to Glades Central, and their head coach is a UF grad, and pushes kids to UF--word is that Deonte hadn't decided who he was going to commit to the day he announced, and wanted to have a Miami hat & a Florida hat up at the podium in case he changed his mind--the coach had taken the Miami hat out of the podium when Deonte went to grab one.

Matt Patchan's another kid who Miami was after, but cooled on and then he committed to UF as a backup plan...so I wouldn't call that "beating Miami out" for a South Florida kid.

They play good HS football all over the state of Florida, but EVERYONE knows that the best teams/players come from South Florida. Randy Shannon's just as good of a recruiter and has a great staff full of recruiting guys just like Meyer and his staff, if not better. Randy's from S. Florida, these kids know him, and there's people in/around the program that work with these kids from a young age in youth football programs.

If Miami wants a kid out of S. Florida, they'll get him about 90-95% of the time with Shannon at the helm.

I never said some of those kids aren't good enough to play at Miami, I said if Miami wants them they'll get them before UF will. The only team that really can compete majorly in S. Florida's recruiting scene along with Miami, believe it or not, is LSU. Why? Because LSU, for the most part, doesn't negative-recruit (read: they don't trash another program just to get a kid to commit).

Meyer does. Don't believe me? I can cite two examples right off and then look for others later, if you'd like:

1) Omar Hunter was told by Meyer and his staff when he was an ND verbal that ND was going to lose their TV contract, that he wouldn't get the exposure he needs. A week later, after decommitting from ND and UF on signing day, ND's television contract with NBC got renewed for 8 more years.

2) Michigan WR Daryl Stonum was lied to directly by Meyer shortly after Lloyd Carr's stepping down--see his quote:
